Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve probably noticed hundreds of posts on IG and Facebook about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. For those who have a Nordstrom card or signed up for one, early access started July 12th! For those (like me) who have yet to get a Nordstrom card, the sale starts today (July 20th). I kick myself every year because there are always things that sell out that I could have gotten if I had a Nordstrom card, but the closest Nordstrom to where I live in more than an hour away, and knowing myself, it’s better that I don’t regularly order without trying things on because I never end up making it to the post to return them…
The anniversary sale is the one time of the year I have no problem buying without trying on. I read so many reviews and honestly all of the try-on sessions people post online makes it even easier to feel confident in what sizes I am purchasing. Although I was not one of the lucky ones to have early access, I did managed to score some of my most wanted pieces by actually having a plan this year. I created a Nordstrom account and managed a wish list; added all of the pieces that I was thinking of purchasing. Then when the time came, I just had to click “add to cart” under each item on my wish list and checkout. I typically use this sale as a great opportunity to stock up on some of my most loved basics – short and long sleeve tees, lounge wear, jeans, etc.
The sale has a great selection of pieces and I really loved all of the fall colors I was seeing. Which of course made me go straight for sweaters and coats. I was able to find a lot of amazing sweaters that I will now look longingly at in my closet until it starts to get cooler out haha
I have to admit I was a bit on the fence about the button back sweater from 1901 because the detail is in the back, so when it gets cooler out, a coat would cover this. But the simplicity of the front is one of the things I love about it. Sometimes a simple solid color sweater is just the thing to pull an outfit together. While the photos I have above show my favorite colors for fall, they have a lot of other color options available, especially some great pastels for summer and spring!
You probably don’t even want to think about coats right now, but it is the perfect time to think ahead and save big! Below are a couple of my favorites from this year’s sale.
I’ve been looking for a new everyday jacket and this North Face one is the perfect solution! I absolutely fell in love with BB Dakota’s brushed fleece draped collar coat but unfortunately it was sold out before the sale opened to everyone…but that’s okay because I found this Halogen dupe… the photo online makes this look more like oversized pajamas than the stylish sweater/coat that it is. You have to check out the photo over on Veronika’s Blushing, to see what is actually looks like on someone other than this ready-for-bed model. I love to mix it up sometimes by add a bit of edge to my outfits with different jackets, this midnight moto jacket by BlankNYC is the perfect addition. It also comes with detachable hood is always a plus in my book.
I’m guilty of always wearing sweats and tees to bed, so I was excited when I saw these Make+Model lounge pants in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…sadly it seems everyone else was stoked too because they are SOLD OUT! So I decided to step up my pj game and found these two short sets that are just absolutely adorable; I especially love the print of the RAILS pajamas!
I tried to restrain myself and not go overboard with my purchases, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share some more of my favorite finds with you!
They also had a great selection of home items, which I will be all over when we finally move into a new house with more space! Super cute mirrors and end tables, bedding, towels, just a ton of stuff to suck you in to scrolling for awhile 🙂
I hope you enjoyed my picks!
