One of my favorite things about Valentine’s Day; besides the flowers and candy and gifts is that it is another excuse to get all dressed up! Now is the perfect time to start thinking about what you are going to be doing Valentine’s Day and picking out the perfect outfit. Even if you don’t have plans to go out anywhere, dressing up with a little some special for work on Valentine’s Day will put a little pep in your step!
Monique Lhuillier Dress | Too Faced Mascara | INC International Concepts Pumps | Tarte Palette | Top Shop Ruffle Trim Sweater | Pearl Strand| Pearl Earrings | Bailey 44 Skirt from Rent the Runway | Julep Nail Polish | Christian Louboutin Pumps
Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s Day inspired pieces to get inspire your look! I like to play up the pinks for this holiday since I typically play up red for Christmas. This pale pink lace dress is by Monique Lhuillier and I think the look is perfect combination of feminine & fun. This designer also holds a special place in my heart because it is who designed by wedding dress! If you are looking to go red for the occasion; ML also has this similar style dress in red and DVF has this beautiful long sleeved lace dress in red as well. If you don’t want to do a dress but still want to keep your style fun, feminine and flirty for Valentine’s Day, there is nothing better than this whimsical blush skirt by Bailey 44 (Carrie Bradshaw anyone!?). It can be dressed up or dressed down, but my favorite look is one by a RTR reviewer who wore it to the Vienna Opera. She pared it with a white cami, pearls, and nude pumps with her hair up. It looked simply perfect! Go to the reviews on RTR for this skirt to see this reviewer & many others for ways to style this skirt. I found this the beautiful delicate pink knit sweater at Top Shop. I love the little ruffle detail trim that gives it a flirty feminine touch. You can dress it up with a skirt or down with jeans.
Round out your look with some great jewelry, makeup and accessories. I think pearls are a great idea with any of the pink pieces shown in this post. Pearls can be an investment, but I really think they are a great thing to have. But if you don’t want to spring for an investment piece right now, RTR has a great layered pearl necklace you can rent for $5, yes there are no zeros after that 5!! Can’t beat that! Check it out here. Put a little pep in your step with these deep fuchsia pumps from INC International Concepts; or spring for these super cute Dollyla Glitter Pumps from Christian Louboutin! Finish off your look with any of Julep’s amazing nail polishes, a pretty pink lip like YSL’s Rouge Volupte Shine, Oil in Stick (here), rosy cheeks like the ones you’ll get from any of the selections in this Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Kiss & Blush Cream Cheek & Lip Palette.
Hope you enjoy my picks! Happy shopping!
